Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent.
North Carolina Firefighter Certification.
North Carolina EMT-B Certification.
NC Driver/Operator Pumps Certification (preferred).
Technical Rescuer Certification – NFPA 1006 (2013) (preferred).
Confined Space and Trench Rescue Certifications (preferred).

Responsibilities

Respond to emergencies to combat, extinguish, and prevent fires.
Operate fire and rescue equipment effectively during emergency incidents.
Perform routine care and maintenance of fire stations, firefighting equipment, and associated facilities.
Use independent judgment when responding to emergencies, following established standards and procedures.
Work under strenuous conditions, including extreme heat, smoke, and confined spaces.
