Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• North Carolina Firefighter Certification.
• North Carolina EMT-B Certification.
• NC Driver/Operator Pumps Certification (preferred).
• Technical Rescuer Certification – NFPA 1006 (2013) (preferred).
• Confined Space and Trench Rescue Certifications (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Respond to emergencies to combat, extinguish, and prevent fires.
• Operate fire and rescue equipment effectively during emergency incidents.
• Perform routine care and maintenance of fire stations, firefighting equipment, and associated facilities.
• Use independent judgment when responding to emergencies, following established standards and procedures.
• Work under strenuous conditions, including extreme heat, smoke, and confined spaces.
