Job summary

Sage-Haus in San Jose, CA is seeking a part-time House Manager / Family Assistant to streamline daily life for a busy household of four. The role covers calendar management, errands, meal support, laundry, pet care, and light maintenance, with 20–25 hours per week and a pay rate of $40–$45 per hour.

You will coordinate medical appointments, manage household supplies, and serve as the primary point of contact for vendors.

Qualifications

• Experience managing a busy household schedule.
• Ability to maintain a smoke-free environment.
• Reliable transportation and ability to handle large dogs.
• Proficiency with household technology (Google Calendar, Nest, etc).
• CPR and First Aid certification preferred.
• Comfortable with medical-adjacent logistics and family safety protocols.

Responsibilities

• Set up and manage a shared family Google Calendar; coordinate with work EA
• Manage and coordinate medical appointments, reservations, and logistics
• Research/coordinate repairs and quotes
• Receipt and budget tracking
• Travel planning and logistics support as needed
• Proficiency with household tech platforms (Nest, Google Suite, sprinkler apps, etc)
• Serve as the primary point of contact for vendors (landlord, dog walker, cleaners, etc)
• Create and/or maintain household organization systems
• Daily resets and prep home for cleaners
• Light tidying and seasonal swaps
• Prepare and coordinate donations and FB Marketplace sales
• Indoor plant care
• Change batteries, light bulbs, smoke detectors, etc
• Organizational projects (garage, mudroom, toys, gear)
• Restock pantry/fridge/household supplies
• Manage running household supply lists
• Manage household orders and subscriptions
• Returns, dry cleaning, gift shopping
• Mail and package handling
• Breakdown boxes
• Afternoon school pickup coverage two days a week
• Collaborative support in engaging teens in preparing backpacks/clothing/snacks
• Prep meal ingredients/snacks; 1 batch-cooked meal per week
• Prep school lunches for one kid
• Grocery shopping; Kitchen clean-up and maintenance
• Wash/fold/organize laundry; Ironing/steaming
• Linen rotation
