Job summary

The Champaign Park District is seeking a part-time Facility Attendant to help keep recreation spaces safe, welcoming, and running smoothly. You will set up equipment for programs, monitor facilities during open gym and events, and assist patrons while enforcing policies.

The role offers flexible evening and weekend shifts, on-site work, and training including First Aid, CPR, AED, and Harassment Prevention. This is a great entry point into parks, recreation, or facility management.

Qualifications

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Ability to work evenings and weekends as needed.
  • Physically able to assist with equipment setup and manual tasks.
  • Follow safety procedures and enforce policies consistently.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and break down equipment for programs, events, and rentals.
  • Monitor facilities during open gym, events, and rentals to ensure safety and smooth operations.
  • Enforce Park District policies and safety protocols consistently.
  • Assist patrons by answering questions and resolving issues professionally.
  • Conduct routine equipment and facility inspections and report maintenance needs.
  • Complete incident and accident reports promptly and accurately.
  • Assist with opening and closing facilities according to schedule.
  • Maintain clean, organized, and welcoming recreation spaces.
  • Support training and onboarding of new staff.
  • Provide tours of facilities as needed.
