Job summary

The Salvation Army Kroc Center in South Bend is seeking a part-time Property Technician to maintain our buildings, grounds, equipment, and vehicles. The schedule is 29 hours per week: Monday through Thursday 2:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M., and Friday 2:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M.

You’ll perform minor plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, and general repairs, inspect facilities, and document work while keeping grounds and vehicles in good order. A background check is required.

Qualifications

• Basic knowledge of building and vehicle maintenance.
• Ability to prioritize work and solve problems.
• Basic computer skills for maintenance records.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to meet driver qualification standards.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Complete minor plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, and general repairs.
• Inspect facilities, perform preventive maintenance, and document completed work.
• Maintain grounds, including mowing, trimming, snow and ice removal, and cleanup.
• Check organization vehicles and arrange service or repairs when needed.
• Help move furniture and set up spaces for programs.
• Report safety concerns and care for maintenance equipment.
