Job summary

South Bend Kroc Center is seeking a part-time Property Technician to maintain our buildings, grounds, equipment, and vehicles. Help keep a community space safe, welcoming, and ready for the people who use it every day.

You’ll perform minor plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, and general repairs, inspect facilities, perform preventive maintenance, and document work. The schedule is Mon-Thu 2–8 PM and Fri 2–7 PM, about 29 hours weekly.

Qualifications

• Basic knowledge of building and vehicle maintenance, including plumbing and heating and cooling systems.
• The ability to prioritize work, solve problems, and complete tasks reliably.
• Basic computer skills for maintenance records and reports.
• A valid driver’s license and the ability to meet The Salvation Army’s driver qualification standards.
• The ability to lift, push, or pull up to 50 pounds and perform work that may involve standing, walking, bending, or squatting, with reasonable accommodation where applicable.

Responsibilities

• Complete minor plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, and general repairs.
• Inspect facilities, perform preventive maintenance, and document completed work.
• Maintain grounds, including mowing, trimming, snow and ice removal, and cleanup.
• Check organization vehicles and arrange service or repairs when needed.
• Help move furniture and set up spaces for programs.
• Report safety concerns and care for maintenance equipment.
