Job summary

The Salvation Army Kroc Center in South Bend is seeking a part-time Maintenance Technician to keep our buildings, grounds, equipment, and vehicles in good working order. You will perform hands-on repairs and help prepare spaces for programs.

Typical schedule is 29 hours per week, Monday through Thursday 2:00 PM–8:00 PM, and Friday 2:00 PM–7:00 PM. Pay is $20–$22 per hour, with opportunities to contribute to a welcoming community space.

Qualifications

• Basic knowledge of building and vehicle maintenance.
• Ability to prioritize work and solve problems.
• Basic computer skills for maintenance records and reports.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to meet driver qualification standards.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks.

Responsibilities

• Complete minor plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, and general repairs.
• Inspect facilities, perform preventive maintenance, and document completed work.
• Maintain grounds, including mowing, trimming, snow and ice removal, and cleanup.
• Check organization vehicles and arrange service or repairs when needed.
• Help move furniture and set up spaces for programs.
• Report safety concerns and care for maintenance equipment.
