Job summary

The Salvation Army Kroc Center in South Bend is seeking a part-time Property Technician to maintain our buildings, grounds, equipment, and vehicles. This role focuses on hands-on repairs and keeping the center safe, welcoming, and ready for community programs.

You will perform minor plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting tasks, conduct preventive maintenance, and document work. A valid driver’s license and ability to lift up to 50 pounds are required.

Qualifications

• Part-time schedule with 29 hours per week as listed.
• Maintenance of buildings, grounds, equipment, and vehicles.
• Ability to perform minor plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, and general repairs.
• Background check and Safe From Harm training required within 30 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Complete minor plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, and general repairs.
• Inspect facilities, perform preventive maintenance, and document completed work.
• Maintain grounds, including mowing, trimming, snow and ice removal, and cleanup.
• Check organization vehicles and arrange service or repairs when needed.
• Help move furniture and set up spaces for programs.
• Report safety concerns and care for maintenance equipment.
