Job summary

Navy Exchange Service Command (NEXCOM) Port Hueneme NHG is seeking a Maintenance Worker for the Navy Lodge Port Hueneme. This part-time position (20–34.5 hours) performs upkeep across plumbing, HVAC, electrical, carpentry and painting in guest rooms and facilities.

The role requires physical work, basic safety training, and may include weekends/holidays. Eligible benefits include paid leave, medical/dental insurance, 401k with match, pension and hotel privileges.

Qualifications

• GENERAL EXPERIENCE One year of experience that provided the applicant with knowledge of general maintenance practices involving the upkeep of buildings, grounds, fixtures, equipment etc.
• SUBSTITUTION OF EDUCATION FOR EXPERIENCE One year of high school education may be substituted for 3 months of general experience up to a High School Diploma or GED for one year of general experience.
• SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE One year of general maintenance work in involving simple maintenance work such as painting, plumbing, carpentry, and electrical repairs.

Responsibilities

• Plumbing: repairs, faucets, sinks, water heaters and related fixtures.
• Washer/Dryer repair and routine maintenance.
• HVAC: identify causes and assist in repairs.
• Electrical: repair/reports on problems and replacements.
• Carpentry: basic repairs to frames, molding, drywall.
• Painting: prep and coating to surfaces.
• Perform preventive maintenance and safety training.
• Move and handle tasks and basic equipment handling.
