Job summary

Joulé is seeking a Facilities & Building Services Specialist in Rockville, MD for a part-time, 24 hours/week schedule with rotating on-call coverage. The role involves hands-on work across building systems,_vendor coordination, and ensuring laboratory/office/vivarium operations run smoothly.

Qualifications include a High School Diploma and 5+ years in facilities or related work, plus strong mechanical aptitude and experience with contractors in regulated environments.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• 5+ years in facilities or building maintenance preferred.
• Strong mechanical aptitude with building systems experience.
• Experience with contractors and vendors in regulated environments.
• On-call rotations with one-hour response time; occasional evenings/weekends/holidays.
• Able to lift up to 50 pounds and climb ladders.
• Valid driver\'s license and reliable transportation required.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and troubleshoot critical building systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, boilers).
• Coordinate preventative maintenance and repairs.
• Work with contractors and vendors to schedule maintenance and services.
• Respond to on-call needs during assigned rotations.
• Support day-to-day building operations including moves and office setup.
• Assist with shipping/receiving and general facilities tasks.
• Maintain safety procedures and PPE compliance.
