Job summary

JLL is seeking a Maintenance Technician in St. Joseph, MO to support the operation, maintenance and repair of building systems across facilities, delivering reliable service and uptime.

You will work with the Facilities Manager and Chief Engineer on preventative maintenance, emergency response and special projects. The role requires hands-on experience with HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and general upkeep, plus a valid driver’s license and ability to lift 80 lbs and climb ladders.

Qualifications

• Minimum of one year of technical experience in building engineering, maintenance, or facilities operations.
• Working knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems and general building maintenance.
• Valid state driver’s license with driving eligibility.
• Ability to work on-call, overtime, weekends, and support emergency response activities.
• Ability to lift up to 80 lbs. and safely climb ladders up to 30 feet.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance and repair work on facility, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems.
• Maintain and repair building interiors/exteriors, grounds, gates, fire life safety systems, generators, and related equipment.
• Complete facility inspections and report deficiencies or operational concerns to the Chief Engineer.
• Respond to service requests, emergencies, after-hours calls, and storm-related support activities as needed.
• Utilize CMMS/work order systems to manage tasks, document completed work, and maintain KPI expectations.
• Conduct routine building rounds and maintain safe, clean, and compliant work areas
• Support operational projects and additional facility-related tasks assigned by site leadership.

What this job involves:

As a Maintenance Technician at JLL, you will support the operation, maintenance, and repair of building systems across assigned facilities while delivering exceptional customer service and ensuring operational efficiency. This role is responsible for maintaining facility infrastructure including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, masonry, drywall, asphalt, gates, and fire life safety systems. You will work closely with the Facilities Manager and Chief Engineer to support daily operations, preventative maintenance, emergency response, and special projects. This position requires flexibility, the ability to work independently or as part of a team, and comfort working outdoors in varying weather conditions.

What your day-to-day will look like:

• Perform preventative maintenance and repair work on facility, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience using CMMS or work order management systems.
• Previous experience in a facilities, commercial building, or mobile engineering environment.
• Carpentry, drywall, or general construction repair experience.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Willingness to learn new technical skills and support cross-functional maintenance activities.

Location:

St. Joseph, MO

Work Shift:

Monday through Friday, with core working hours from 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM. This schedule is fixed and consistent throughout the week.
