Job summary

Shifting Gears is seeking a part-time Executive Director based in Bellingham, WA to lead marketing, events, financial management, and staff and volunteer oversight. The role ensures the organization’s mission and values are embedded in all work, including programs like mountain biking and hiking.

The Executive Director will manage operations for a nonprofit with a $125,000 budget, foster relationships with stakeholders, and report to the Board of Directors on performance and priorities.

Qualifications

• Three or more years in volunteer and event management.
• Experience with social media, marketing, websites, and newsletters.
• Public speaking and representing an organization in public settings.
• Education or training in nonprofit management or related fields.
• Understanding barriers faced by small grassroots organizations.
• Leadership experience, preferably in a nonprofit.
• Experience cultivating donors and securing funding.
• Experience developing and delivering outdoor recreational programming.

Responsibilities
