Job summary

The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill is seeking an Event Assistant to support Kenan-Flagler events. You will guide attendees, help with venue access, and resolve catering and parking issues.

You’ll set up audio-visual gear and ensure compliance with policies, with occasional light lifting during events. This temporary, part-time role requires a bachelor’s degree or equivalent and prior event or customer-relations experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of training and experience.
• Previous event management or customer relations experience.
• Willingness to perform light lifting as part of event support.

Responsibilities

• Direct attendees to the correct event venue and assist with venue directions.
• Troubleshoot catering/rental item delivery and parking issues.
• Set up and troubleshoot audio-visual equipment (sound, mic, screen/projector).
• Open and close the building and ensure compliance with Kenan-Flagler policies.
• Assist with light lifting of tables and chairs as needed.
