Job summary

Gulf Coast JFCS is seeking a Transportation Support Specialist for evenings in Tampa, FL. This part-time role provides transportation and on-site supervision to youth in out-of-home care, with a focus on safety, mentoring, and crisis de-escalation.

You will document services, support staff, and maintain confidentiality while working collaboratively with caregivers and professionals. We value compassion, reliability, and the ability to work in high-stress situations.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum of one year of experience working with children and/or families preferred.
• Knowledge of child development preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide transportation and supervision of children to/from school, office, foster and/or group homes, and other locations in the community.
• Provide supervision to youth at the office, during transport, or in other community locations, as required.
• Provide, strengthen, and maintain a positive mentoring role by developing rapport with youth under supervision.
• Utilize de-escalation and intervention techniques to assist in stabilizing youth in crisis.
• Assist other program staff and intervene in crisis situations as necessary.
• Create, strengthen, and maintain positive, supportive working relationships between youth, caregivers, and other professionals involved in serving the youth.
• Provide completed documentation for services rendered within the required timeframes to case management program staff.
• Assist with on-call when necessary in accordance with agency policy and program procedure.
• Maintain client confidentiality according to established policies, federal and state statutes, by obtaining needed releases of information.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.
