Job summary

Gulf Coast JFCS in Tampa, FL, seeks a Transportation Support Specialist to provide transportation and on-site supervision for children in out-of-home care. This non-exempt role emphasizes safe transport, mentoring, and confidential documentation of services.

Qualifications include a high school diploma and experience with children; valid driver’s license with auto insurance; strong organizational and de-escalation skills. PTO, 403(b) match, and ongoing professional development are offered.

Qualifications

• Must have a High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum one year of experience working with children and/or families preferred.
• Knowledge of child development preferred.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to be dependable, flexible, and empathetic.

Responsibilities

• Provide transportation and supervision of children to/from school, office, foster and/or group homes, and other locations in the community
• Provide supervision to youth at the office, during transport, or in other community locations, as required
• Provide, strengthen, and maintain a positive mentoring role by developing rapport with youth under supervision
• Utilize de-escalation and intervention techniques to assist in stabilizing youth in crisis
• Assist other program staff and intervene in crisis situations as necessary
• Attempt to create, strengthen, and maintain positive, supportive working relationships between youth, caregivers, and other professionals involved in serving the youth
• Provide completed documentation for services rendered within the required timeframes to case management program staff
• Assist with on-call when necessary in accordance with agency policy and program procedure
• Maintain client confidentiality according to established policies, federal and state statutes, by obtaining needed releases of information
• Perform all other duties as assigned
