Job summary

A Kid's Place of Tampa Bay, Inc. seeks a dedicated staff member for afternoon to evening shifts to ensure youth safety, well-being, and supportive engagement.

You will maintain confidentiality, support life skills per service plans, and participate in trainings and meetings. The role requires a High School diploma or equivalent and at least 1 year of experience with at-risk youth, with a focus on de-escalation, teamwork, and reliable attendance.

Qualifications

• Must be 21 years of age or older.
• Pass FDLE background screen, drug screen, and local background screen.
• Valid Driver’s License and insurability by company.
• Able to work in a high-paced, sometimes stressful environment.
• Respect confidentiality of youth information and EEOC rules.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

Responsibilities

• Continuously monitor youth safety, security, and well-being and intervene to prevent hazards.
• Maintain a positive, caring, respectful demeanor at all times.
• Apply verbal de-escalation techniques and other behavior management strategies as trained.
• Foster positive relationships using supportive communication.
• Arrive and depart punctually, maintaining strong attendance.
• Assist with meals, upkeep of the group home, and with life skills per service plans.
• Provide non-restraint behavioral interventions as appropriate.
• Transport children to and from activities as needed and engage youth in enrichment activities.
