Job summary

Preble Street is hiring a part-time Client Support Staff for Elena’s Way in Portland, ME. The role involves outreach, direct services to clients, crisis intervention, and contributing to case management in a 24/7 trauma-informed shelter environment.

The 20-hour/week schedule runs Wednesday to Saturday, 6:00pm–11:00pm, with shift differentials. Benefits include sick time, PTO, retirement plan with employer match, health/dental insurance, and EAP access.

Qualifications

• Education in social work or related field; experience in direct service provision to people experiencing homelessness.
• Understanding of and alignment with Preble Street’s mission; commitment to low-barrier services.

Responsibilities

• Engage with clients and provide direct services within Elena’s Way shelter.
• Provide crisis intervention and support; participate in case management activities.
• Help maintain safety in program spaces and ensure program coverage.
