Job summary

Alvin Community College seeks a part-time instructor to deliver engaging, hands-on engineering activities for youth programs and camps. You will design lessons, supervise campers, and ensure safety and inclusivity in accordance with college policies.

The role requires working days, evenings and weekends as needed, with a maximum of 19 hours per week. Prior experience with youth programs and bilingual ability are a plus.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in engineering, Education, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• One (1) year of experience working with youth in an educational or camp setting.
• Flexibility to meet program needs, including days, evenings and/or weekends, up to 19 hours per week.

Responsibilities

• Develops and delivers age-appropriate engineering activities to engage students.
• Ensures a safe learning environment by following safety protocols.
• Follows curriculum outlines and adapts as needed to meet student needs.
• Evaluates participation and progress, providing feedback to support learning outcomes.
• Collaborates with staff to coordinate logistics like field trips and supplies.
• Maintains open communication with parents/guardians about student progress.
