Job summary

The City of Hawthorne invites you to apply today for the part-time Emergency Preparedness Coordinator. You will lead, oversee and coordinate emergency services activities to prepare, respond, and facilitate recovery programs for the community.

This role reports to the Human Resources Director and/or designee, with emphasis on independent judgment, problem solving and time management in planning Hawthorne’s Emergency Preparedness programs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Public or Business Administration.
• Two (2) years of progressively responsible disaster preparedness experience in public or private emergency management.

Responsibilities

• Lead, oversee, and coordinate emergency services activities to prepare, respond and facilitate recovery programs.
• Coordinate Emergency Preparedness programs to ensure readiness for critical events.
• Report to the Human Resources Director or designee and manage planning, problem solving and time management.
