Job summary

Advocate Good Samaritan Hospital is seeking a part-time Emergency Preparedness leader for on-site coordination. The role involves directing the program, overseeing committees, and ensuring readiness across hospital operations.

Requirements include a Bachelor's in Emergency Management or EMT-P license, plus 3–4 years in emergency preparedness. Expect on-call duties, travel as needed, and collaboration with regional partners.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Emergency Management or related field
• EMT-P license in state of practice
• 3–4 years in Emergency Department or emergency preparedness
• NHDP-BC or FEMA IS courses preferred (within 12 months)

Responsibilities

• Plan, direct, coordinate and manage the operational activities of the Emergency Preparedness Program.
• Develop the Emergency Preparedness Committee and support related planning.
• Develop, plan, monitor and evaluate HICS and NIMS implementation.
• Oversee local/regional exercises including surge, PPE, decontamination and hazmat plans.
• Collaborate with local hospitals and agencies for regional disaster preparedness planning.
• Participate on committees such as Emergency Management and Infection Prevention.
• Lead hazmat activities and education initiatives.
• Plan and implement educational programs for Emergency Preparedness.
• Act as liaison during emergencies and document to regulatory standards.
• Monitor compliance with OSHA and regulatory agencies for hazmat training.
