Job summary

Advocate Good Samaritan Hospital is seeking a part-time, on-site Emergency Preparedness lead. You will plan, direct, and manage the program, build committees, and coordinate with local agencies for regional disaster planning and exercises.

The role requires a Bachelor's in Emergency Management or EMT-P licensure, 3–4 years in emergency settings, and willingness to travel for training; OSHA and regulatory compliance knowledge is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Emergency Management or equivalent, or licensed EMT-P.
• 3–4 years of experience in Emergency Department, field paramedic, or emergency preparedness.
• Leadership experience preferred; NHDP-BC preferred; FEMA IS Courses 100, 200, 300, 400, 700, 800 within 12 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Plan, direct, coordinate and manage the operational activities of the Emergency Preparedness Program.
• Develops the Emergency Preparedness Committee and support to Advocate Health Care committees.
• Develop, plan, monitor, and evaluate HICS and NIMS implementation.
• Collaborate on regional exercises and disaster planning with local/regional entities.
• Liaise during emergencies and ensure regulatory documentation compliance; supervise hazmat training.
