Peralta Community College District invites qualified Part-Time Faculty members to provide high-quality instruction and student support in alignment with the District's mission of advancing equity, student success, and academic excellence.

Assignments are made on an as-needed basis and may include day, evening, weekend, online, or hybrid classes at any of the District's colleges. This role emphasizes inclusive teaching and timely assessment of student learning outcomes.

Qualifications

• Possession of any bachelor’s degree or higher and two years of professional experience, OR
• Possession of any associate degree and six years of professional experience.
• Understanding of, sensitivity to and respect for the diverse backgrounds of Peralta Colleges’ students, faculty, staff and community.

Responsibilities

• Teach assigned courses in accordance with approved course outlines and student learning outcomes.
• Prepare and deliver effective, student-centered instruction using evidence-based teaching practices.
• Develop and maintain course syllabi, instructional materials, assignments, and assessments.
• Evaluate student performance in a timely and equitable manner and maintain accurate academic records.
• Submit grades and other required reports by established deadlines.
• Create an inclusive, respectful, and supportive learning environment for students from diverse backgrounds.
• Maintain regular communication with students and respond promptly to inquiries.
• Utilize the District's learning management system and other instructional technologies as appropriate.
• Comply with District policies, collective bargaining agreements, accreditation standards, and applicable federal and state regulations.
• Participate in department meetings, professional development, and other college activities as appropriate for part-time faculty.
