Job summary

UnityPoint Health in Cedar Rapids, IA is seeking a part-time Emergency Department Technician to provide essential clinical and clerical support under RN and physician direction. You will monitor patients, assist with transport, and help maintain a safe, efficient care environment in a fast-paced ED.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED and EMT-B certification with BLS preferred; CPI/MOAB training due within 90 days of hire.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent.
• At least one year of clinical experience is preferred.
• EMT-B certification required or preferred.
• BLS certification preferred; must be obtained within 30 days of hire.
• CPI and MOAB training required within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with RNs and care team to support individualized care plans.
• Accurately obtain and document vital signs and clinical data.
• Provide non-invasive clinical and clerical support under RN/physician direction.
• Perform EKGs and assist with patient transport while ensuring comfort and dignity.
• Maintain equipment and documentation in the EMR per regulations.
