Job summary

UnityPoint Health is seeking an Emergency Department Technician to join a fast-paced ED team in Iowa. You will support registered nurses and the clinical team with hands-on patient care during 12-hour night shifts, focusing on comfort, safety, and efficient workflows.

Responsibilities include vitals, basic care, and helping patients with daily needs while building compassionate connections. Requires a high school diploma or GED and BLS certification (or within 30 days of hire).

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • At least one year of clinical experience is preferred.
  • BLS certification through the American Heart Association is preferred; required within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

  • Obtain vitals and provide basic, immediate patient care and comfort.
  • Assist with patient needs such as bathing, dressing, toileting, and maintaining clean and safe patient environments.
  • Build genuine connections with patients to support care delivery.
