Job summary

Trinity Health is seeking a registered nurse for the Emergency Department in Des Moines. You will provide professional emergency care across all ages, triaging and coordinating with a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities include patient education, advocacy, and supervision of ED Technicians. Required is Iowa RN licensure, BLS, ACLS, and TNCC within specified timeframes; ER experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Current Iowa RN license in good standing; compact licensure acceptable.
• One year RN ER experience preferred; or new grad with senior preceptorship.
• Mandatory Reporter abuse training completed within 3 months of hire.
• BLS certification within six weeks of hire.
• ACLS within six months of hire.
• TNCC within one year of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provides professional emergency nursing care using the nursing process for all age groups.
• Triages patients quickly per ED policies and coordinates care with the team.
• Documents comprehensive patient records reflecting nursing care provided.
• Educates patients and families; advocates for patient needs and safety.
• Supervises ED Technicians and serves as a preceptor for students and staff.
