Job summary

Lucas Elementary in Iowa City, Iowa is seeking an Elementary Supervisory Paraeducator to assist with the academic, social, emotional and physical needs of students for 3 hours per day. You will work under the supervision of the building administrator, classroom teacher or designated staff member as part of an educational team.

The position requires an AA or BA degree or para certification; experience with children is preferred but not required, and post-secondary coursework in the educational

Responsibilities

• Supervise students during recess and lunch; assist with health concerns and lunch counts.
• Assist classroom teachers in preparing materials for instruction; support staff and parents as part of the educational team.
• Maintain confidentiality of student records and comply with negotiated paraeducator agreements.
• Other duties as assigned by the building administrator or designated staff.
