Job summary

Qualifications

• AA degree or BA degree or Para certification required.
• Experience with children preferred but not required.
• Post-secondary coursework in educational field preferred.
• Self-starter with initiative.
• Able to be flexible with assignments.
• Able to collaborate with teachers, staff, admins and parents.
• Good judgment to handle unexpected problems.
• Familiarity with typical office equipment.

Responsibilities

• Supervise recess, ensuring safety and notifying staff of problems.
• Supervise lunch seating and behavior; assist with lunch distribution as needed.
• Assist with basic student health concerns and medicine distribution.
• Record daily lunch counts and coordinate with Food Service.
• Assist with attendance and calling families when students are unaccounted for.
• Assist classroom teachers in preparing instructional materials.
• Assist in media center when needed.
• Maintain confidentiality of student records.
• Adhere to the negotiated paraeducator agreement.
• Take on other duties as assigned.
