Job summary

Chesterfield County is seeking a dedicated educator to deliver 32 STEPP lessons to public elementary students in a structured environment. You will use lecture methods, audio/visual aids, props, and handouts to engage students and promote safety and respectful behavior.

The role requires an Associate's degree or equivalent, strong classroom management, and a clean driving record. Compliance with CJIS security policy and background checks is mandatory; opportunities for professional development

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in education or related field or HS diploma with training and experience in public speaking, teaching or program planning.
• Ability to write and implement lesson plans; strong group management and organizational skills; experience with elementary school children.
• Pre-employment drug testing, FBI background check and CJIS Security Policy; US citizen or eligible for naturalization.

Responsibilities

• Teach 32 STEPP lessons in a supervised setting for elementary students.
• Deliver instruction using lecture style, audio/visual aids, props and handouts.
• Provide guidance, be a positive role model, and promote safety and sound decisions.
• Direct traffic daily in school areas to ensure pedestrian and bike rider safety.
• Participate in mandatory training for Child Safety Officers and perform other duties as required.
