DEAN MED-MEDICAL STUDENT EDUCA (IN-DMSE-IUINA)
The Part-Time Educational Technology and Student Support Assistant is based within the Student Affairs office and serves as a key resource for supporting medical students while also contributing to operational and technology-focused projects. The position balances direct student support with project-based work, including data analysis, reporting, process improvement initiatives, and support of educational technologies used across Medical Student Education.
Department-Specific Responsibilities
- Builds and maintains spreadsheets, Smartsheets (collaborative work management program), and Canvas course documents.
- Offers innovative technology solutions to enhance both business and educational processes.
- Assists with front desk coverage, hospitality needs, customer service, and responding to student questions and concerns, while also managing projects.
- Provides technical support and troubleshooting for educational technology systems, including learning management systems (LMS), active learning classrooms, electronic collaboration tools, and virtual environments.
- Assists the Business Analyst advise faculty and staff on the selection and use of technology tools and platforms to support instructional goals.
- Collaborates with stakeholders to understand technology needs and recommend appropriate solutions.
- Creates documentation and user guides for technology tools, workflows, and systems.
- Collaborates with other team members to innovate and improve existing technology solutions.
- Stays informed about emerging technologies and trends in educational technology.
EDUCATION
- General knowledge at the high school level.
WORK EXPERIENCE
- Experience in educational technology, information technology, computer science, or a related field.
Skills
Required
- Strong interest and familiarity with educational technologies and systems.
- Proficiency in building and managing Excel spreadsheets, Smartsheets, and Canvas course documents.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to interact effectively with faculty, staff, and students.
- Problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot technical issues.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong customer-service mindset.
- Ability to seamlessly transition between assisting students, supporting events, working with data, and helping implement and maintain educational technology solutions.
- Ability to be adaptable and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where priorities may shift throughout the day.

- Ability to think analytically.
Preferred
- Experience working with student administration systems or learning management systems (LMS).
- Familiarity with active learning methodologies and classroom technologies.
- Knowledge of electronic collaboration tools, social networking platforms, electronic conferencing, and virtual environments.
This role requires the ability to effectively communicate and to operate a computer and other standard office productivity equipment. The position involves sedentary work as well as periods of time moving around an office environment and the campus. The person in this role must be able to perform the essential functions with or without an accommodation.

$18.00 - 20.00 per hour
Up to 25 hours per week, 3-5 days per week, ideally 5 hours per day
10:00 AM to 3:00 PM (open to discussion)
