Job summary

Intermountain Health is seeking an Echo Technician to perform diagnostic cardiac/vascular exams under physician direction. The role is ideal for recent graduates or those new to the field, with a part-time schedule (30 hours) and on-call shifts at Good Samaritan Hospital in Lafayette, Colorado.

You will handle exam preparation, patient education, and coordination with staff, while maintaining safety, accuracy, and timeliness.

Qualifications

• ARDMS or CCI certification in cardiac or vascular sonography.
• BLS certification for healthcare providers.
• Bachelor’s Degree preferred from an accredited institution.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate technical competence for department protocols.
• Prioritize and schedule exams.
• Coordinate exams with medical staff, offices, other caregivers and patients.
• Prepare for exams by patient identification, education, and transport.
• Perform ultrasound exams per protocols and in a timely manner.
• Ensure patient safety and comfort and achieve quality outcomes.
• Communicate patient needs with physicians and caregivers during exams.
• Return patient to room and ensure stability post-exam.
• Mentor caregivers and students on equipment use and technique.
• Document exam results and needed information.
• Apply charge codes for exams and supplies.
• Clean and maintain equipment, work area, and supplies.
• Coordinate repairs or supply needs as needed.
• Support quality improvement processes and initiatives.
• Participate in educational opportunities to ensure competence and develop skills.
• Provide education for caregivers, fellows, and students.
