Job summary

Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta is seeking a Dietitian to join the pediatric nutrition team. The role focuses on nutritional assessment, medical nutrition therapy, and education for patients and families in alignment with the hospital’s mission and values.

The position requires RD registration, Georgia licensure, and an ability to work within an interdisciplinary team. Clinical experience in pediatrics is preferred, with opportunities to mentor dietetic interns and contribute to departmental

Qualifications

• Pediatric nutrition experience in inpatient or outpatient setting preferred, but not required.
• Current Registration with the Commission on Dietetic Registration; Georgia licensed dietitian.
• If RD/LD credential not currently possessed, must obtain within 3 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Determines nutritional assessment using age and developmentally appropriate standards.
• Recommends appropriate medical nutritional therapy for assigned patients and evaluates response to medical nutritional therapy and determines change.
• Instructs patient and family related to nutritional therapy which incorporates age-appropriate developmental standards. Includes family/caregiver in patient care and provides effective education appropriate for learning needs of patient and family.
• Advises groups related to pediatric nutritional therapy and community nutrition as required.
• Implements departmental standards for documenting all aspects of work-related activities.
• Participates as member of interdisciplinary team.
• Directs and evaluates dietetic interns/students.
• Maintains professional development responsibilities.
• Performs other responsibilities as required, including but not limited to departmental committee participation and annual competencies.

Job Description

Participates as interdisciplinary patient care team member to provide nutritional services and education to meet needs of identified patient population within the scope of the medical center’s mission and values.

Experience

• Pediatric nutrition experience in inpatient or outpatient setting preferred, but not required

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in pediatric populations

Education

• Dietitians credentialed prior to 12/31/23: Bachelor’s of Science in Nutrition, Dietetics, or related field
• Dietitians credentialed after 12/31/23: Master’s of Science or Public Health in Nutrition, Dietetics, or related field

Certification Summary

• Current Registration with the Commission on Dietetic Registration
• Georgia licensed dietitian
• If dietitian does not currently possess RD and/or LD credential, must obtain within 3 months of hire
