Job summary

Great Basin College is seeking a part-time teacher aide for the Child & Family Center in Elko, NV. You will assist the Lead Teacher and Assistant Teacher in implementing activities for children aged 6 weeks to 5 years, while supporting safety and well-being.

The role requires as well adaptability, teamwork, and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Compensation is based on experience, with a maximum of 19 hours per week.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Demonstrated organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Adaptable, teachable, and willing to work with and support other team members.
• Demonstrated ability to respond and make decisions in an ever-changing environment.
• Ability to teach children through play.
• Applicants must be physically able to perform duties including frequent lifting up to 50 pounds, bending, reaching above shoulder level, climbing stairs, pulling, typing, prolonged standing or sitting.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Lead Teacher and Assistant Teacher in instructing children between the ages of 6 weeks to 5 years.
• Participate in caring for the children’s well-being and safety.
• Implement lesson plans, which stimulate the development of age appropriate cognitive and social skills.
• Implement and teach the Pre-Kindergarten Standards through appropriate activities in the classroom.
• Follow guidelines and licensing standards as set forth by the Nevada Bureau of Services for Child Care.
