Great Basin College Child & Family Center in Elko, NV is seeking teacher aides to support Lead and Assistant Teachers in implementing curriculum and promoting development for children ages 6 weeks to 5 years.

The position is part-time, non-benefits-eligible, with up to 19 hours per week and up to 79.5 hours per month. Employment is contingent on background checks and credential verification as part of NSHE policies.

Qualifications

• Requires High School Diploma or GED.
• Demonstrated ability to respond and make decisions in a changing environment.
• Ability to assist with classroom activities and implement lessons.
• Must be physically able to perform duties including lifting up to 50 pounds, bending, and standing for long periods.

Responsibilities

• Assist Lead Teacher and Assistant Teacher in instructing children aged 6 weeks to 5 years.
• Participate in caring for children’s well-being and safety.
• Implement lesson plans to stimulate cognitive and social development.
• Support Pre-Kindergarten Standards through classroom activities.
• Maintain an age-appropriate center-based learning environment per accreditation standards.
• Model positive attitudes and teamwork in daily operations.
• Support public relations with all contacts within and outside the Center.
• Perform other duties as assigned by Lead Teacher or Director.
• Adhere to staff handbook and licensing standards.
