Great Basin College (GBC) is hiring eight full‑time Early Childhood Educator positions in Elko, NV. These roles report to the Child and Family Center Director and involve creating developmentally appropriate lesson plans and maintaining a safe, accredited learning environment.

Qualifications

• Associate or Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or 24 credits with 3+ years classroom teaching.
• Three to five years of early childhood classroom experience.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Proficiency with computers, including Microsoft Office and Smart Boards.
• Knowledge of NAEYC accreditation, Nevada Silver State Stars QRIS, ECERS/ITERS, and Pyramid Model.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and participate in children’s well-being and safety.
• Create and implement lesson plans supporting age-appropriate cognitive and social development, including communication, emergent reading, writing, mathematics, science, social studies, art, and motor skills.
• Implement and teach Pre‑Kindergarten Standards through classroom activities.
• Maintain a center-based learning environment meeting accreditation requirements (NAEYC, TACSEI TPOT, ECCERS).
• Conduct teacher/parent conferences twice a year.
• Organize monthly parent/teacher trainings or activities.
• Prepare and send Homework on Wheels home monthly.
• Instruct a full-day preschool for 3–4-year-olds, Monday–Friday, with ~20 students.
• Work a minimum of 40 hours per week under Director supervision.
• Model positive attitudes to promote harmony and public relations.
• Participate in college committees and activities as assigned.
• Follow guidelines in Staff Handbook and licensure standards.

• Conduct teacher/parent conferences twice a year.

• Ability to respond quickly, make decisions and meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
• Knowledge of NAEYC accreditation, Nevada Silver State Stars QRIS, ECERS/ITERS, and Pyramid Model.
