GOODWILL INDUSTRIES OF THE VALLEY WORKS INC is seeking a part-time Donations Associate in Galax, VA. This role involves sorting donations, pricing merchandise, stocking shelves, and providing world-class customer service at our retail location.

Candidates should be able to read, write, perform basic math, work independently as needed, and collaborate with managers, team members, customers, and donors. The position requires physical stamina and lifting up to 40 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Sort donations into sellable, salvage or trash categories.
• Price merchandise using baseline price guides; mark-up special priced items of exceptional value.
• Provide quality assurance by checking for tears, stains, wet, smelly, soiled, broken zippers, missing buttons.
• Consistently meet production goals.
• Ensure a positive donor and customer interaction by providing world class customer service.
• Demonstrate the principles of DURT with every donor interaction and use the DURT Alert system to ensure all donors receive world class customer service.
