Job summary

Goodwill of Central and Coastal Virginia is seeking a Retail Associate to support donation processing, pricing, and merchandising in a busy store environment in Petersburg, VA. You'll inspect donations, tag items, stock the floor, and assist customers while following safety and asset protection rules.

No prior experience required; HS diploma preferred. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and work evenings/weekends as needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred; combination of education and work experience considered.
• No previous experience required.
• Criminal background check required.

Responsibilities

• Inspect donations and assess marketability per Retail Operations Manual.
• Sort raw material for store use, salvage, or trash.
• Tag donations according to rotation system.
• Hang and place items on the sales floor based on productivity standards.
• Produce items daily according to minimum standards.
• Adhere to uniform dress code.
• Demonstrate an enthusiastic and positive attitude.
• Work as a team member in a fast-paced environment and learn new procedures.
• Cross-train in multiple production and customer service positions.
• Adhere to Asset Protection procedures.
• Communicate effectively with customers, peers and management.
• Adhere to work schedule.
• Handle the physical requirements of daily responsibilities.
