Job summary

The Arc of Ocean County is looking for dependable Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to provide part-time support to adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in Brick Township and Toms River, New Jersey. DSPs help with daily living activities, meals, personal care, and community outings to foster independence.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Valid New Jersey driver’s license in good standing with no more than five points.

Responsibilities

• Assist individuals with personal care, meal preparation, medication administration, housekeeping, laundry, and other daily routines.
• Help individuals practice everyday skills, make choices, and build greater independence.
• Contribute to a clean, comfortable, organized, and welcoming home environment.
• Accompany and support individuals during appointments, shopping trips, recreational activities, volunteer opportunities, and other community outings.
• Encourage opportunities for social connection and meaningful participation in the community.
• Safely transport individuals in agency vehicles when assigned.
