Job summary

The Arc of Ocean County is seeking an experienced Direct Support Professional (DSP) to assist adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities across residential programs in Toms River, Barnegat, Lacey Township, and Brick. This full-time day-shift role fits someone who already understands the DSP role and is ready to bring that experience into a supportive residential setting.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• At least one year of prior DSP experience.
• Medical case management experience preferred.
• Valid New Jersey driver’s license in good standing with minimal points.
• Strong communication, teamwork and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct support in residential homes, supervised apartments and supported living programs.
• Assist with personal care, meals, medication support, transportation and daily living tasks.
• Reinforce routines, independence, and personal responsibility toward goals.
• Document daily service notes and communicate with supervisors for continuity.
• Collaborate with Residential Services staff to ensure reliable, compassionate support.
