Job summary

St. John’s Community Services in Dover, DE is seeking Direct Support Professionals (DSP) for a female-only, home-based role to support individuals with disabilities in their daily lives.

You will assist with daily tasks, transportation, and documentation while ensuring health and safety in the community. Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, at least one year of related experience, a valid health certificate, and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• One year related experience with persons with disabilities preferred.
• Valid health certificate required per funding jurisdiction.
• Valid state-issued driver’s license with clean driving record preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide supervision and training to persons served to promote social wellbeing, health and safety in the least restrictive environment.
• Administer medication to persons served per medication procedures and state certifications.
• Assist persons served with transportation to access community resources and plan daily activities.
• Document supports provided, including progress toward skills, health matters, choices, achievements and challenges.
• Attend mandated events, workshops, training, investigations and meetings.
• Ensure responsible usage of agency resources, e.g., vehicles, property, finances.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
