Job summary

St. John’s Community Services in Dover, DE is seeking Direct Support Professionals to assist individuals with disabilities in developing and maintaining skills within the community. Commit to person-centered supports, health, safety and social inclusion while following program procedures.

Responsibilities include supervising, transporting, documenting progress, and participating in trainings and meetings. Candidates should have a high school diploma or GED and a valid driver’s license;

Qualifications

• Experience providing support to persons with disabilities is preferred.
• Ability to observe and respond to physical, social, behavioral and personal needs.
• Valid driver’s license with good driving record is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide supervision and training to persons served to promote health and safety.
• Assist with daily activities and transportation to access community resources.
• Document supports provided, progress toward skills, and health notes per procedures.
• Attend mandated events, trainings and meetings as required.
• Ensure responsible use of agency resources including vehicles and finances.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
