Job summary

St. John's Community Services in Bear, Delaware, is seeking Direct Support Professionals (DSP) for a part-time shift at Augustine Place.

DSPs provide support to people with disabilities to develop and maintain skills, promote social inclusion, and assist with daily tasks so clients can access community resources. Responsibilities include supervision and training, administering medications under certification, helping with transportation, documenting progress, and participating in mandated

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• One or more years related experience with persons with disabilities required; community-based experience preferred.
• Valid health certificate and driver’s license with clean driving record required.
• Criminal background/records check required per funding jurisdictions.

Responsibilities

• Provide supervision and training to persons served to promote social wellbeing, health and safety.
• Administer medications per medication procedures after certification.
• Assist persons served with transportation and access to community resources.
• Document supports and progress daily following SJCS procedures.
• Attend mandated events, trainings, investigations and meetings.
