Job summary

St. John’s Community Services is seeking a part-time Direct Support Professional (DSP) to assist adults with disabilities in Newark, DE. This 12-hours-per-week drop-in role focuses on daily living skills, community access, and personal supports.

Responsibilities include supervising and training individuals, assisting with transportation and activities, documenting progress, and following SJCS procedures while ensuring health and safety in a supportive, inclusive environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• One or more years related experience preferred.
• Background check as required by SJCS and funding jurisdiction.

Responsibilities

• Provide supervision and training to persons served to support social wellbeing, health and safety.
• Administer medications per procedures after required certifications.
• Assist with transportation and daily activities to promote social inclusion.
• Document supports provided, progress toward skill acquisition and health matters.
• Attend mandated events, workshops, training, investigations and meetings.
• Ensure responsible use of personal and agency resources.
• Other duties as assigned.
