Job summary

St. John’s Community Services is seeking Direct Support Professionals (DSP) to assist individuals with disabilities in Bear, DE.

This part-time position covers Thursday and Friday evenings and Saturday shifts, providing supportive care, skills development, and community participation opportunities. The role emphasizes supervision, medication administration after proper certification, transportation assistance, and documentation of progress while maintaining safety and dignity for each person

Qualifications

• High school diploma or G.E.D. required.
• One or more years related experience working with persons with disabilities preferred.
• Must meet background checks and health certificate requirements.

Responsibilities

• Provide supervision and training to persons served to promote wellbeing and safety.
• Administer medication per procedures after certification.
• Assist with transportation and daily activities to promote inclusion.
• Document supports, progress, choices, health, and achievements daily.
• Attend mandated events, workshops, trainings, investigations and meetings.
• Ensure responsible use of agency resources such as vehicles and finances.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
