Job summary

Easterseals PORT Health is seeking a Direct Support Professional (DSP) in Buxton, NC to help individuals with IDD complete daily living tasks and reach their personal goals. This part-time role offers weekday, evening, and weekend flexibility, with bilingual skills considered an asset.

You will provide in-home and community support, assist with daily tasks and personal care, and may transport clients to appointments while documenting care in our EHR system. Training is provided.

Qualifications

• Entry-level position with on-the-job training provided.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Knowledge of basic housekeeping, nutrition, and safety protocols.
• Strong interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and dependability.
• Proficiency with EHR systems or ability to learn.

Responsibilities

• Provide care in the home and in the community.
• Assist with housekeeping, meal prep, cooking, cleaning; personal care like bathing and dressing; and employment support.
• Transport the client to appointments and run errands as needed.
• Help plan and organize the client’s schedule.
• Daily documentation and reporting in the electronic health record.
