MediLodge of Cass City is seeking a part-time Dietary Cook to prepare and serve meals to residents, staff, and events. The role emphasizes safe food handling, nutrition awareness, and attractive presentation, with attention to dietary needs of elderly residents.

Ideal candidates have prior large-quantity cooking experience, familiarity with therapeutic diets, and ServSafe or similar certification is preferred.

Formación

• Minimum of tenth grade or above.
• GED or High School Diploma or above preferred.
• Six months' experience in large quantity food preparation; therapeutic diet experience preferred.
• ServSafe certification preferred, or other state/county required food safety certification.

Responsabilidades

• Reviews menus prior to preparation of food.
• Prepares food for regular and therapeutic diets according to the planned menu, as instructed by the supervisor.
• Prepares alternative items to meet residents’ individual needs and food preferences.
• Prepares and/or portions food using proper food handling and food safety techniques according to established policies.
• Prepare food in accordance with sanitary regulations and established policies.
• Makes only authorized changes to the planned menu and records the change according to policy.
• Ensures that food tastes good and is served at the appropriate temperature in an attractive, appetizing manner.
• Ensure that menus are maintained and filed in accordance with established policies.
• Utilizes standardized recipes to prepare menu items.
• Performs other tasks as assigned.
