Job summary

Umpqua Valley Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Roseburg, OR, is seeking a dependable Dietary Aide for part-time shifts: Fri and Sat 6a-2p, Sun and Mon 4p-8p, with potential schedule variations based on facility needs.

Starting pay is $20.36/hour plus DOE. Responsibilities include food prep, serving, maintaining sanitary areas, and ensuring accurate portions and temperatures; certification and English literacy are required.

Qualifications

• Food Handler's permit/ServSafe certification as per state requirements.
• Must be able to read, write and follow oral and written directions in English.
• Must relate positively and favorably to residents, families and to work cooperatively with other employees.
• Must pass drug screening, criminal background investigation and reference inquiry.

Responsibilities

• Assist in food preparation, serving, and maintaining clean and sanitary conditions in the kitchen and dining areas.
• Check that plate and hot base lowerator are heated, steam table is properly heated.
• Ensure that accurate serving portions and food items are on each tray before loading to the food cart.
• Ensure that appropriate serving utensils are used; ensure that temperatures are within standards (all temperatures are logged and reviewed prior to tray-line).
• During the tray line, ensure that the trays are garnished, neatly arranged, silverware, cups, and dishes are clean and plate covers are dry.
• After tray-line, check and record excess/shortage preparation, discuss with the supervisor.

Schedule: Part-time | Friday and Saturday 6a-2p| Sunday and Monday 4p-8p (This schedule may vary depending on building needs.)
Open availability required for both AM and PM shifts based on the needs of the facility.
