Job summary

Umpqua Valley Nursing & Rehabilitation Center is seeking a dependable Dietary Aide for a part-time schedule (Fri/Sat 6a-2p; Sun/Mon 4p-8p; other shifts may be needed). Starting pay is $20.36/hr (DOE). Duties include food prep, serving, and maintaining sanitation in kitchen and dining areas at the Roseburg facility.

Qualifications include ServSafe/food handler certification, English literacy, and ability to work with residents and staff. A drug screen and background check are required.

Qualifications

• Food Handler's permit/ServSafe certification as per state requirements.
• Ability to read, write and follow oral and written directions in English.
• Ability to work positively with residents and staff.
• Must pass drug screening and background/reference checks.

Responsibilities

• Assist in food preparation, serving, and maintaining clean and sanitary conditions in the kitchen and dining areas.
• Check that equipment and hot bases are properly heated and maintained.
• Ensure correct tray portions and proper serving utensils; monitor temperatures and log them.
• Ensure trays are garnished, neatly arranged, and plate covers are dry.
• Record excess/shortage after tray-line and discuss with supervisor.

Location: Umpqua Valley Nursing & Rehabilitation Center (Roseburg Pass, OR)

Schedule: Part-time | Friday and Saturday 6a-2p| Sunday and Monday 4p-8p (This schedule may vary depending on building needs.)

(Open availability required for both AM and PM shifts based on the needs of the facility)

Umpqua Valley Nursing & Rehabilitation Center is seeking a dependable, enthusiastic, and dedicated Dietary Aide to join our outstanding team!

Responsibilities:

• Assist in food preparation, serving, and maintaining clean and sanitary conditions in the kitchen and dining areas.
• Check that plate and hot base lowerator are heated, steam table is properly heated.
• Ensure that accurate serving portions and food items are on each tray before loading to the food cart.
• Ensure that appropriate serving utensils are used; ensure that temperatures are within standards (all temperatures are logged and reviewed prior to tray-line).
• During the tray line, ensure that the trays are garnished, neatly arranged, silverware, cups, and dishes are clean and plate covers are dry.
• After tray-line, check and record excess/shortage preparation, discuss with the supervisor.

Qualifications:

• Food Handler's permit/ServSafe certification as per state requirements.
• Must have the ability to read, write and follow oral and written directions in English.
• Must be able to relate positively and favorably to residents, families and to work cooperatively with other employees.
• Must pass drug screening, criminal background investigation and reference inquiry.
