Job summary

Umpqua Valley Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Roseburg, OR is seeking a dependable Dietary Aide to join our outstanding team. The part-time role supports meal preparation, serving and dining area cleanliness, with a schedule of Friday and Saturday 6a-2p and Sunday and Monday 4p-8p (subject to building needs).

Starting pay is $20.36 per hour DOE. Requirements include a Food Handler/ServSafe certification, ability to read/write English, and willingness to pass screenings.

Qualifications

• Must read, write and follow oral and written directions in English.
• Must relate positively to residents and families and work cooperatively with staff.
• Must pass drug screen, background check and reference inquiry.

Responsibilities

• Assist in food preparation, serving, and maintaining clean and sanitary kitchen/dining areas.
• Check that plate and hot base lowerator are heated and steam table is properly heated.
• Ensure accurate serving portions and that temperatures are logged and within standards.
• During tray line, ensure garnishing, neat arrangement, clean silverware and dry plate covers.
• After tray-line, check and record excess/shortage and discuss with supervisor.

Responsibilities

• Assist in food preparation, serving, and maintaining clean and sanitary conditions in the kitchen and dining areas.
• Check that plate and hot base lowerator are heated, steam table is properly heated.
• Ensure that accurate serving portions and food items are on each tray before loading to the food cart.
• Ensure that appropriate serving utensils are used; ensure that temperatures are within standards (all temperatures are logged and reviewed prior to tray-line).
• During the tray line, ensure that the trays are garnished, neatly arranged, silverware, cups, and dishes are clean and plate covers are dry.
• After tray-line, check and record excess/shortage preparation, discuss with the supervisor.

Qualifications

• Food Handler's permit/ServSafe certification as per state requirements.
• Must have the ability to read, write and follow oral and written directions in English.
• Must be able to relate positively and favorably to residents, families and to work cooperatively with other employees.
• Must pass drug screening, criminal background investigation and reference inquiry.
