Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age and have a high school diploma or GED.
• Must be a U.S. citizen and eligible for TCOLE Jailer certification within 1 year.
• Possession of a valid Texas driver's license or ability to obtain within 90 days.
• Fingerprint-based background investigation and CJIS/TCOLE requirements apply.

Responsibilities

• Admit and book inmates and supervise jail operations.
• Monitor cameras and emergency systems.
• Transport and escort inmates to court and appointments.
• Distribute inmate property and manage supplies.
• Answer public questions about inmate status.
• Maintain daily population counts and custody status.
• Regular attendance and work a minimum of 24 hours per week.
