Job summary

GEO provides transportation and security services for detainees, seeking experienced professionals who can manage transport operations, drive safely, and supervise staff with a strong sense of responsibility. The role requires extensive travel and overtime in demanding environments.

Applicants should have a high school diploma, law enforcement or military training, and CDL where possible, with a clean driving record and ability to work extended shifts.

Qualifications

• Minimum Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent certification; possession of state requisites for employment.
• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Three years of experience as a Law Enforcement Officer with Arrest Authority or three years in Prisoner Handling/detention as Corrections/Military Police.
• Two years of driving experience in a transportation capacity.
• Demonstrated leadership experience.
• Must have completed an approved training program resulting in certification in Corrections, Law Enforcement, or Military.
• CDL license or CDL permit preferred; must obtain CDL within six months.
• Clean driving record with no preventable accidents or major violations in the past three years.
• Ability to travel for extended periods and to work overtime; handle stress in demanding environments.

Responsibilities

• Assisting management when unique or unexpected problems arise while transporting detainees (develop effective and efficient solutions).
• Reviewing all vehicle inspection reports and developing summaries for Transportation management.
• Ensuring all permits and licenses for assigned vehicles are in order.
• Ensuring vehicles have necessary safety equipment before initiating a trip and notifying Transportation management of problems.
• Tracking DOT HOS on Electronic Logging Devices.
• Participating in interviewing and screening of applicant Transport Officers.
• Reviewing all necessary paperwork and ensuring reports are turned into Transportation management per policies.
• Ensuring missions meet or exceed PBNDS/FBNDS safety measures while transporting detainees.
